Q: Is my vehicle compatible with a rooftop tent?
A: Not all vehicles are compatible with rooftop tents. Several factors need to be checked:

1. Roof type:
   • Raised rails with cross-supports, flush rails, or fixed mounting points?
   • A panoramic roof or a roof without reinforced structure requires extra caution.
2. Roof load capacity:
   • Check your vehicle’s manual or with the manufacturer (it must usually exceed the weight of the tent + occupants).
3. Compatibility of crossbar mounts and feet:
   • The mounting system must match your vehicle’s bars and attachment points.

Q: What is the difference between dynamic load and static load?
A: Dynamic load refers to the weight your roof bars can support while driving (e.g., the tent alone). Static load refers to the weight they can support when the vehicle is stationary (tent + occupants). Static load is much higher, which allows you to sleep safely inside.

Q: Is it difficult to install or remove a rooftop tent?
A: The first installation usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. Since a tent weighs between 45 and 70 kg (100–155 lbs), it’s best to have two people to handle it. Once installed, setup at the campsite only takes a few minutes.

Q: Can I leave a rooftop tent mounted year-round?
A: Yes, but it is not recommended. The extra weight and wind resistance increase fuel consumption and may prematurely wear the bars. It’s better to remove the tent when not in use, especially in winter.

Q: Can I use my rooftop tent in winter?
A: Yes! Rooftop tents are designed to withstand cold and snow. However, we recommend using an insulating mattress or thermal liner for extra comfort, and clearing accumulated snow regularly.

Q: Are rooftop tents comfortable?
A: Absolutely. They come with an integrated mattress and a flat floor, eliminating bumps and ground moisture. You’ll sleep dry, with a panoramic view, and without worrying about insects.

Q: How long does a rooftop tent last?
A: With regular care (cleaning, drying completely before storage, lubricating zippers), a rooftop tent can last 10 years or more.

Q: What’s the difference between a soft-shell and a hard-shell rooftop tent?
A: Soft-shell tents are lighter, less expensive, and more compact when folded. Hard-shell tents open faster, are more aerodynamic, but are heavier and more costly.

Q: Is it safe to sleep in a rooftop tent with young children?
A: Yes, as long as you are careful. Tents are equipped with secure closures, but children should always be supervised, especially at night. Non-slip ladders and safety nets are available for extra peace of mind.

Q: Can a rooftop tent withstand strong winds?
A: Yes, they are designed to resist heavy winds. However, just like traditional camping, it’s best to set up in a sheltered location when possible.

Q: Can I travel everywhere with a rooftop tent?
