Have you ever woken up in a warm tent after a cold night and noticed that the walls were almost damp? This is condensation, a natural phenomenon that occurs when moisture in the air comes into contact with the cold walls or floor of the tent and turns into liquid as it cools.
The air inside your tent can become saturated with moisture from several sources: your breath, wet clothing and gear, or humidity in the air.
This moisture naturally condenses on cold surfaces and can accumulate under your tent mattress. If the tent is not properly dried, mold can form on the underside of the mattress.
